Physical exertion produces moisture, which must be rapidly wicked away since trapped moisture cools the body and causes discomfort. The mechanical push-pull effect created by combining an internal hydrophobic fibre with an external hydrophilic fibre draws perspiration away from the skin. Moisture evaporates on the external layer of the fabric, not on the body. Because no cooling occurs and fabric does not stick to the skin, comfort is enhanced and performance improved.
