That’s the diverse and ideal terrain for trying out the reworked X-RUNNING family from GORE RUNNING WEAR®. The fabric requirements are equally diverse but the new spring/summer 2012 collection offers trail runners co-ordinated clothing that enhances performance and comfort on unmade paths.

From brisk mountain sprints to runs on hidden trails in old industrial zones, trail runners often use rough terrain on narrow paths and need maximum freedom of movement when trying to keep their balance on slippery or rocky surfaces. They are also very exposed to nature's whims so must be able to rely totally on the weatherproofing of their clothing.

The X-RUNNING line from GORE RUNNING WEAR® is aimed at highly ambitious long-distance and endurance trail runners who run in varying weather conditions. The design and function of all the products in the X-RUNNING family are such that they are ideally co-ordinated not only visually but also functionally. Thanks to their many years of expertise in the outdoor sector using high-tech materials such as GORE-TEX® and WINDSTOPPER® laminates and their close collaboration with elite athletes, the product managers can develop running systems tailored to runners' needs regarding type of use, distance and running performance. Crucial characteristics of the X-RUNNING line are robust materials, minimum weight, small volume when packed, maximum breathability, good moisture management and absolute freedom of movement.

Depending on weather conditions and preferences, trail runners can put together their ideal outfit - from head-to-toe and from skin-to-shell. In good weather in summer they will choose the new, ultralight X-RUNNING ZIP Shirt and the practical X-RUNNING 2.0 Shorts. Netting inserts and the zip in the shirt allow efficient ventilation, while the three back pockets offer storage space for gels or rain jackets. The X-RUNNING 2.0 Shorts combine the advantages of tights, such as protection against friction and compression, with the casual look of shorts. Protection against UV radiation is provided by the X-RUNNING Cap. The breathable X-RUNNING Socks with their heel protectors complete the outfit.

In uncertain weather conditions the innovative X-RUNNING GT AS Hooded Jacket can be packed into one of the shirt's three back pockets and the X-RUNNING Shoe Gaiters velcroed onto shoes. Thanks to the GORE-TEX® Active Shell Laminate the X-RUNNING GT AS Jacket is extremely breathable and light but is nevertheless, guaranteed to be waterproof. With its functional short sleeves and  over-sleeves the jacket offers weatherproofing for the runner's body, which is sensitive to the cold, without inhibiting freedom of movement. The generous stretch panel on the back further supports freedom of movement. The breathable X-RUNNING Shoe Gaiters prevent small stones, water splashes and leaves getting into shoes when off trail.

The BASE LAYER products in the ESSENTIAL line can be combined with all X-RUNNING products as functional underwear for the best possible climate regulation and maximum comfort.
